VII Grower Maps
Region Meetings
Region VII held their semi-annual meeting Thursday, February 26,
at Kinney
Bonded Horticultural Supply in Donna, Texas. Thirty attendees
were treated to a barbecue dinner, courtesy of Kinney Bonded, as
well as a presentation by Dr. Juan Ancisco from the Texas AgriLife
Extension Service. Dr. Ancisco spoke about three relatively new
pest problems in the Valley: Asian Cycad Scale, Florida Tortoise
Beetle, and Cuban Laurel Thrips. Thanks to Dr. Ancisco for his very
informative presentation and to Kinney Bonded for hosting and sponsoring
the meeting, and for the great barbecue!
Coming Events
The next Region VII meeting will be held in October 2009 at the Quinta
Mazatlan World Birding Center in McAllen. More details to come.
Region VII October 2008 meeting
J.C. Cavazos, TCLP, of Southern Landscapes, receives an appreciation
plaque from TNLA Chairman Elect James Wilhite, TCLP, for his past
service as Chairman of Region VII.
About 40 nursery professionals attended the Region VII October
meeting hosted by the Quinta Mazatlan World Birding Center. A special
thanks to Netafim USA for hosting this very successful meeting.
